LIFE GROUPS & CLASSES
At Leclaire, we have a few different ways for people to grow in their faith. Here are some of the current opportunities we offer for people to connect with others in the church and strengthen their relationship with Christ.
Life Groups focus on Building Community, Bible Study, and Service. Groups are usually made up of 8-15 people who “do life” together and typically meet in group members’ homes, out in the community, or at Leclaire. This fall, our Life Groups will be going through the Rooted small group experience together.
Rooted is an 11-week small group experience where you will explore the Bible, engage in experiences, share stories, and practice the rhythms essential to a healthy spiritual life. We think of Rooted as an on-ramp to Life Groups so we strongly advise that you begin with Rooted before joining an open Life Group. Already been through Rooted and looking to join a Life Group? Contact Daniel Koch (firstname.lastname@example.org).
What is the difference between Rooted and Life Groups?
Rooted groups are an on-ramp to Life Groups. As you get to know the other people in your group, you will share important aspects of your life and journey together over the course of the 11 weeks. Rooted groups that commit to 11 weeks together are already in a perfect place to start a new small group, and so we strongly advise that you try Rooted before joining an open small group.
How do I register and what is the cost?
Registration is easy! Click on the link to register. The cost for the course is $25 per person, which includes all sessions, your workbook and related materials, along with the Celebration Dinner at the end of the 11 weeks. We do not want finances to limit your involvement in Rooted; scholarships are available for those who would like to take part in Rooted but may not be able to due to finances. Contact Daniel Koch, email@example.com, for more information about financial scholarships.
Where and when will my Rooted group meet?
All of our Rooted groups will initially meet and launch at LCC on a Wednesday evening. (For Fall 2022, this will be Wednesday, Sept. 14th at 6:00 PM). There will be two additional large group meetings at the church, with all Rooted groups joining together on a Wednesday, during the 11 weeks. Outside of that, each individual group will determine the best day and time to meet together during the week, whether at the church or in someone's home.
What if I cannot make all 11 weeks?
We understand that Rooted is a large time commitment, but we believe it is worth it to invest in the entire process. If you know that you are going to miss more than two meetings, we ask that you wait until the next session of Rooted. The 11 weeks are a cumulative experience, so we ask that every participant commit to honor each other by being at every meeting.
Is childcare available?
Childcare is available for infants through 5th grade during the large group Wednesday gatherings at LCC. During regular small group gatherings, childcare will be determined by the group. If you will need childcare or need a group that allows children, please let us know on your sign-up form and we will try to match you with an appropriate group.
When do I get my materials?
You will receive your workbook the first time you meet together with your group. Your leader will have your materials and walk you through how to use it.
How will my Rooted group be chosen?
Our Rooted team will prayerfully place participants into groups of about 10-15 people. We group by age, marital status, and life stage. These groups ultimately depend upon the demographics of those who registered. A substantial amount of prayer and thoughtfulness goes into creating groups that we think will provide the best experience for all participants. While we do our best to honor requests, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to accommodate all friend or leader preferences.

Bible Studies & Classes
Throughout the year, we offer classes and Bible studies to give people the opportunity to dive deeper into their knowledge of the Bible and to apply its truth to our lives. Some of these studies are more practical in nature, while others focus on a particular book of the Bible or Biblical theme. Whatever you might be looking for, these classes are great ways to connect with others and learn together.
