Leclaire's Core Teachings - What We Believe

  • There is only one God who has existed eternally in three distinct, equally divine persons – God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.  (Matthew 3:16-17; John 14:9-10)
  • Jesus Christ is the one and only Son of God, who was born (on earth) from a virgin, lived a sinless life, died for our sins and was raised from the dead.  (John 1:14; Matthew 1:18; John 20:24-31, 1 Corinthians 15: 1-8 & John 3:16)
  • The Bible is the inspired word of God, a lamp to our feet and a light to our path.  It is completely reliable and the final authority on all matters of faith.  (2 Timothy 3:16 & Psalm 119:105)

  • Every person has worth as a creation of God, but all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God; therefore, we need forgiveness. (Romans 3:23)
  • Forgiveness of sins and the promise of eternal life are available to those who trust Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. (John 3:16)
  • Those accepting Christ should repent of sin, confess their faith, and be baptized into Him. (Romans 10:9 & Acts 2:38)
  • The Church is the body of Christ on earth, empowered by the Holy Spirit, which exists to help people find their way back to God and to strengthen the followers of Jesus. (Ephesians 4:1-16)
  • Jesus Christ will one day return to earth and reign forever as King of kings and Lord of lords. (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)
  •  Heaven and hell are real and we are glad that God alone makes the call on who goes where. If you choose to connect with God he invites you to live in community with him and other believers for all eternity. If you do not want to connect with him, he will not make you spend eternity with him in heaven. Hell, the absence of God and existence without community is the dwelling place for all who refuse to reconnect with God in Jesus Christ. (Acts 17:22-31; Romans 1:18; 2 Peter 3;9; 1 John 2:25, 5:11-13; Revelation 20:15)
